Dal Maash in Pressure cooker

Ingredients
Onion 1
sliced
Garlic paste 1 tsp
Oil 1/4 cup
Tomato 2 medium
chopped
Salt to taste
Red chili powder 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Dal mash 1 cup
Water to cover the dal
Garam masala 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder 1/2 tsp
Fresh coriander chopped
Fresh green chilies chopped
Ginger julienned 1 tsp
Instructions
Wash and soak the dal in water for 4-5 hours or overnight in the fridge until it doubles in size.
Heat oil in a cooker and add the onion and cook until they start to turn golden.
Add garlic paste and sauté for 1 minute
Add tomatoes, cover and cook until tomatoes are mushy the masala leaves the oil.
Add salt, chili powder and turmeric powder, Sauté for a minute and add dal and enough water to cover the dal.
Put the pressure on for 2 minutes.
Let the pressure release and check if the dal is ready. If not, cook on low flame for 5-10 minutes.
Lastly, add fresh coriander, ginger and chilies. Sprinkle garam masala, coriander powder and green chilies. Give it all a good stir.
Serve hot with roti and raita. Enjoy!
