Butter Naan/Kulcha

Ingredients

Makes 8 kulchas

  • Plain flour 2 cups
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Baking powder 1 tsp
  • Kalonji. 1 tsp
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Yogurt 1/2 cup
  • Water for kneading
  • Allow to dough to rest for at least 30 minutes
  • Topping: Butter, Fresh coriander, Kalonji

Preparation

  1. Mix together plain flour, salt, baking powder and kalonji.
  2. Add oil and whisked yogurt and start adding water to knead and keep mixing until soft dough like aata is formed. Knead for 7-8 minutes for best results.
  3. Cover and allow to rest for 30 minutes
  4. Shape into 8 balls.
  5. Take a ball and press some chopped coriander and kalonji on one side. Roll the ball into oval shape kulcha.
  6. Cook on medium flame, on a tawa, applying butter on both sides.
  7. Enjoy!
