Date and Wheat Balls

Ingredients

  • Dates 20 small
  • Wheat flour 1.5 cups
  • Desi ghee (Clarified butter) 2 tbsp
  • Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
  • Date syrup 2 tbsp or as needed (or sugar/ honey)

Preparation

  1. Remove the seeds and soak the dates in 1 cup of water overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. Next day, blend the dates and water until a smooth paste is formed.
  3. Dry roast wheat flour until you feel the nutty aroma.
  4. Add the date paste and mix well.
  5. Add desi ghee and cardamom powder and cook, stirring constantly until the date-wheat mixture leaves the pan and takes the form of a play dough.
  6. Allow to cook down a bit until warm to touch.
  7. Shape into balls and decorate with nuts of silver paper.
  8. Enjoy!
