HAWAIIAN STICKY CHICKEN​

Hawaiian Sticky Chicken

Ingredients:

  • Chicken Breasts 1/2 kg
  • Corn starch 1/2 Cup
  • All purpose flour 1/2 Cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Oil 3 tablespoons
  • Onion 1
  • Red bell pepper 1
  • Garlic paste 1 teaspoon
  • Pineapple can or fresh pineapple 1
  • Water as needed
  • Light brown sugar 1 tablespoon (add less if you are using canned pineapples)
  • Soy sauce 2 tablespoons
  • Tomato puree 1 tablespoon
  • Chili sauce 1 tablespoon or to taste

 

preparation:

  1. Add corn starch, all purpose flour, salt and black pepper to a bowl and mix.
  2. Cut chicken breasts into cubes and coat with this mixture.
  3. Deep fry these coated pieces over medium heat till they are completely cooked.
  4. Chop onions and bell peppers into cubes.
  5. Cut pineapple into bite sized pieces. If using canned pineapples, drain the water and dry them over a kitchen towel and cut into chunks.
  6. To make the sauce add tomato paste, light brown sugar and soy sauce in a bowl. Set aside.
  7. Heat oil in a pan and add capsicum, onions and fried chicken pieces. Sauté over very high heat.
  8. Add pineapples and the required amount of prepared sauce. Add chili sauce. Give a few stirs.
  9. Dish out and serve with rice. Enjoy!
