KOFTA CURRY​

Kofta Curry

Ingredients For meatballs:

  • Chicken mince (or mutton beef lean/no fat) 500 gram
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped coriander 2 Tbsp
  • Chopped green chilies 1-2
  • Chili flakes 1 Tbsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 Tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 Tsp
  • Garam masala 1 Tsp
  • Breadcrumbs 1 Tbsp
  • Black pepper powder 1 Tsp
  • Fresh coriander 2 Tbsp
  • Big green chili 1
  • Yogurt 1 Tbsp
  • Garlic paste 1 Tsp
  • Ginger paste 1 Tsp

For masala/gravy:

  • Fresh tomatoes (or according to your taste) 4
  • Grated onions 3
  • Tomato paste/puree 1 Tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Chili powder to taste
  • Turmeric powder
  • Sugar if needed (to cut down the acidity of tomatoes) 1 Tsp
  • Bunch of coriander
  • Ginger paste (if you like to add to this type of gravy) 1 Tsp
  • Garlic paste (if you like to add to this type of gravy) 1 Tsp
  • Oil as needed
  • Cumin powder 1 Tsp

Preparation:

  1. Grind all the ingredients together with the mince.
  2. Shape into balls.
  3. Add oil to pan and add chopped onions. Fry until translucent.
  4. Add ginger garlic paste. Once fragrant add tomato puree, salt, chili, turmeric and cumin powder.
  5. Grind the tomatoes to form a paste and add to the mixture. Cover and let cook over medium heat.
  6. Add green chilies and keep stirring to keep from burning.
  7. Add meatballs. Allow to cook until the meatballs are cooked and the oil separates.
  8. Garnish and serve hot. Enjoy!
