Naan Bread on Tawa

Ingredients

  • Plain flour (maida) 4 cups
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Baking powder 1 tbsp
  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Water 3/4 cup ( or more if needed)

Preparation

  1. To the plain flour, add salt, baking powder and mix.
  2. Add yogurt and water and knead the dough until smooth and lump free.
  3. Dough should be soft but not sticky.
  4. Cover and keep aside for 30 minutes.
  5. Next, divide the dough into 10 parts and roll them into balls.
  6. Dusting with plain flour, knead the balls into ½ cm thick flat disc.
  7. Heat skillet and place the discs and cook on both sides on medium to low heat.
  8. Naan bread is done!
  9. Enjoy with your favourite dal or BBQ.
