Sirf Aloo ki sabzi (Potato Gravy)

Ingredients

  • Potatoes 1 kg, cut into thin fries
  • Oil 1/4 cup
  • salt to taste
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Red chili powder to taste
  • Garlic cloves 8-10, finely chopped
  • Coriander powder 2 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Water as needed

Preparation

  1. Heat oil and add potatoes, salt and turmeric powder. Cook on medium flame until the potatoes are 70% done.
  2. Add red chili powder, chopped garlic, coriander powder and cumin powder.
  3. Cook for 1 minute and add enough water to cover the potatoes.
  4. Cover with a lid and cook on medium to low flame for 30 minutes or until the potatoes are over cooked and transformed into a gravy.
  5. Serve with rice.
  6. Enjoy!
